History

Originally founded as a moth-proofing company in 1929 by former minor league baseball player, Marion E. Wade, ServiceMaster's humble beginnings go back to Mr. Wade working out of his home in Chicago.   When it was officially incorporated in 1947, ServiceMaster employed only half a dozen employees and generated $125,000 in revenue. Today, that fledgling corporation is the leader of the service industry, employing more than 50,000 people, with annual revenue exceeding $7.8 billion.
